2 people were hospitalized after being struck from behind by vehicle Saturday morning
Two pedestrians are in the hospital after they were struck from behind by a vehicle, according to the Fairhaven Police Department.
Police responded to a report of two people lying in the roadway early Saturday morning. When they arrived on the scene, authorities said they found an unconscious 40-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man who had regained consciousness and was walking around.
Police said a vehicle struck the pair as they were walking along Morton Street. The impact launched them 25 feet down the road. They were found by a passing snowplow driver.
Both victims were initially taken to St. Luke’s Hospital. The female victim was later airlifted to Boston Medical Center.
