Boston cop digs in to help elderly citizen who ‘reminded me of my mother’
A Boston police officer was photographed doing a good deed this week for an elderly West Roxbury woman.
Boston K-9 Officer John Quinn noticed a woman struggling to remove a large block of snow and ice in front of her house Thursday, according to a statement by police.
Quinn stopped his cruiser, got out, and asked the woman if he could lend a hand.
“It was the right thing to do,’’ said Quinn. “I saw that she needed help so I pulled over and asked her to hand me the shovel. It’s one of those things police officers do every day. But – bottom line – she reminded me of my mother and I only did for her what I would want someone to do for my mom.’’
