CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The seven astronauts lost in the Challenger disaster 30 years ago are being remembered in the U.S. Senate.

Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire introduced a resolution Thursday honoring the Challenger crew, including Concord High School teacher Christa McAuliffe.

The resolution, co-sponsored by Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, describes McAuliffe as a teacher ‘‘with an infectious spirit and tremendous bravery’’ who was ‘‘prepared to expand her schoolroom to the stars.’’

The resolution recognizes the 30th anniversary of the loss of Challenger and encourages all Americans to preserve the crew’s legacy.
