Family, friends remember the man killed on Route 128
“We are very, very shocked and very, very sad.’’
Charles Hu’s family and friends are remembering him as kind, community-focused, and musically talented after a car accident on Route 128 took his life on Tuesday, reports The Boston Globe.
Hu, 26, a Lexington native and graduate of Brandeis University, was killed after the wheel of a pickup truck broke off and struck the car he was driving. He was declared dead at the scene.
Hu worked for athenahealth Inc., a health care technology company in Watertown, and was a member of Highrock Church in Arlington. He performed in the church choir and played bass and acoustic guitar in the band. Last fall, Hu spoke at a young adult ministry meeting.
“In a loving way, in a Charles way, he kind of said, ‘You all have to get off your lazy butts and go serve, and go volunteer, and live out our vision statement,’’’ Ezer Lee, young adult ministry director at Highrock, told the Globe. “He wanted us to step up.’’
Hu’s parents live in Taiwan. Jeff Chen, Hu’s uncle, told the Globe, “We are very, very shocked and very, very sad. He is a very kind person. He cared for his family.’’
