Police investigate threats to South Shore Hospital, other locations
Weymouth police searched several businesses for explosives after the businesses received bomb threats via robocall Monday night.
The threats, which began at about 8:30 p.m., “all appear to be recordings,’’ according to a statement from Weymouth police.
The South Shore Hospital, police station, and several retail stores and supermarkets all received threats, according to police. The search at the hospital turned up “nothing suspicious,’’ said police in the statement.
“Detectives are investigating to try to determine the source of the calls and determine if the calls are related to the recent calls made to schools,’’ police said.
Weymouth police did not immediately return a call for comment Tuesday morning.
