Fire at Quincy treatment plant injures 5
Five people were injured after a fire broke out Monday at a water treatment plant in Quincy, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Around 1 p.m., a piece of equipment at the Nut Island Treatment Plant exploded and sparked a fire, a state police spokesman told Boston.com. Five people sustained minor injuries, with two of them being transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, he said.
As of 2:15 p.m., fire officials and a hazmat team were on the scene. Quincy police said the situation was hazardous, but did not pose a threat to the public.
