Mass. man dies in single-vehicle crash in Vermont

A single-vehicle crash in Vermont left one Massachusetts man dead early Sunday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

Michael Hazel, 24, of Harvard, died after his Subaru Forester crashed into a tree just after 2 a.m., police said. Peter Duckett, 25, of Harvard, who was a passenger in the car, was transported from the scene for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Hazel was driving on Middle Town Road in Londonderry, Vermont when, at a sharp turn, his Subaru veered into the opposite lane before going off the road and hitting a tree on the driver’s side, police said.
