Milford High School closed Thursday after an early morning bomb threat

School officials canceled classes at Milford High School Thursday following an early morning bomb threat, according to a statement from the school district.

The entire high school complex has been closed, which includes the Shining Star Early Childhood Center and the Central Administration Office.

“We are working with the Milford Police Department to assess the credibility of that threat,’’ school officials wrote in the statement.

All other schools in the district will remain open, officials said.

Milford is the latest of more than a dozen districts in Massachusetts to receive such a threat this week.

On Wednesday, school districts in Methuen and Tewksbury received threats. Methuen High School was evacuated and all Tewksbury schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, more than a dozen districts across Massachusetts received threats.
