Cambridge Public Schools to remain open Friday despite receiving email threat
Cambridge Public Schools will remain open with increased security Friday after receiving a bomb threat via email Thursday evening, according to a statement from the district.
Cambridge police have begun to investigate the threat but have not yet found any evidence. The buildings will be locked overnight as the investigation continues, and police will be at the schools Friday to monitor the situation, officials said.
The school district previously received threats in December, and more than a dozen districts across the state received threats earlier this week. All were investigated and determined to be unfounded.
Police ask that anyone who sees something suspicious contact them at 617-349-3300 for non-emergency messages.
