I-93 HOV Lane will be open for the evening commute
Southeast Expressway commuters who travel with two or more people in their vehicles should have an easier ride home than they did coming in to work Tuesday.
The Mass. Department of Transportation announced that the southbound HOV lane will be open for the afternoon/evening commute.

The northbound HOV lane on the Expressway was closed Tuesday morning. A MassDOT spokeswoman told Boston.com that the closure was due to a battery fire that “resulted in the HOV lane equipment not being able to be used this morning.’’
Repairs have been made, and the northbound HOV lane will be ready for Wednesday morning’s commute.
