A teenager was shot while standing in his Brockton kitchen

A 17-year-old boy was shot while standing in his Brockton kitchen Monday night, according to Brockton police.

A bullet came through the wall of the boy’s kitchen and hit him in the right shoulder, Brockton Police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice told Boston.com. The incident happened at 8:08 p.m. The boy was taken to Boston Medical Center and his injuries are not life threatening, said LeGrice.

“The 17-year-old was not the target of this, he was just an innocent person,’’ said LeGrice.

The shooting took place at a large apartment complex on Pine Grove Drive. Police found 18 shell casings in the parking lot, said LeGrice. No one else was injured, but cars were damaged by bullets, he said.
