A former St. George’s student said he was sexually abused as a freshman
Harry Groome, of Arlington, will speak at a press conference Tuesday about his alleged sexual abuse at St. George’s School in Middletown, R.I. four decades ago, reports The Boston Globe.
Groome, 52, says he was sexually assaulted by a fellow student at the prep school when he was a 14-year-old freshman. The press conference will call for an independent investigation into the alleged abuse after a report done by the law partner of the prep school’s legal counsel released last month said 23 students were abused by just three employees, the Globe reports.
Attorneys Carmen Durso and Eric MacLeish told the Globe more than 40 victims of staff or student abuse at the school have contacted them.
