Route 1 in Peabody reopens after late morning crash
A car struck a pole on Route 1 southbound in Peabody late Monday morning, causing both sides of the highway to be shut down, according to state police. Route 1 northbound reopened at about 3:30 p.m., though police had only opened the left lane for southbound traffic.

The crash happened at Winona Street, bringing down wires across Route 1 in both directions.

State police told Boston.com that one person was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, and that others were treated at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.
