MBTA back to normal service after Blue and Orange Lines delays

The MBTA’s Blue and Orange lines are back to normal after they experienced significant delays on the first Monday morning of 2016.

The Orange Line experienced severe delays from a disabled train near Wellington, the MBTA said. The T initially said buses would provide replacement service, but that plan was canceled as it was “not necessary,’’ MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said.

In addition, service was suspended between the Blue Line’s State and Bowdoin stations on Monday morning due to a track issue, the MBTA said. The T recommended commuters take the Route 608 Government Center shuttle between the two locations.
