Missing Northeastern student found dead
BOSTON (AP) — Northeastern University says a 21-year-old student who went missing in November has been found dead.
Dennis Njoroge was a native of Kenya who graduated from a Worcester high school and was studying media arts at the university.
WFXT-TV reported Sunday that state police had confirmed a body found Thursday in the Charles River had been identified as Njoroge.
Investigators said the body showed no outward signs of trauma and the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
Northeastern officials said the student had not been heard from since Nov. 29, when he talked to his parents.
In a message to the Northeastern community, university president Joseph Aoun thanked police and fellow students who helped raise awareness about Njoroge’s disappearance. He said counseling services would be available at the school.
