Cache of weapons in a Gillette Stadium parking lot seized by police
Foxborough police have seized a cache of weapons found in a Gillette Stadium employee parking lot. An unnamed suspect faces several charges in connection to the discovery.
Police and sheriff office members were told of a “suspicious male party’’ at the lot just after 11 a.m. Friday, according to a statement from Foxborough police. Officers said they found the weapons while searching the suspect’s vehicle.
Matthew Bromson, 48, of North Granby, Conn. was arrested by police and charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of an electric stun gun, and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police tweeted photo of the weapons, which include multiple swords, a meat cleaver, and what appears to be a crossbow.

“This is an isolated incident and at no time was there a threat to Gillette Stadium. Bromson was taken into custody without incident and there were no injuries to any of the involved parties,’’ said police in a statement issued Saturday.
He’ll be arraigned in Wrentham District Court on Monday, according to police. It was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
