In a tiny post office in Bethlehem, N.H., something special takes place every year between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.

Folks travel many miles to cancel their Christmas cards with a Bethlehem postmark, reports The Boston Globe.

“Sometimes I’m called too Christmas-y,’’ postmaster Brian Thompson told the Globe. “But I enjoy watching the people’s faces. You know, I think ‘Bethlehem, N.H.’ just sort of says Christmas to many people.’’

The post office sees 50,000 pieces of mail — up to three times its normal monthly volume — during the holiday season, thanks to its World War II-era machine that produces the stamp.
