A man was crushed by a collapsing wall in Stoughton

He was remodeling the inside of a warehouse when the accident happened.

A man was injured after he was crushed by a portion of a cinder block wall inside a Stoughton warehouse Tuesday morning, Douglas Campbell, acting fire chief at the Stoughton Fire Department, told Boston.com.

A 36-year-old man was remodeling the inside of the building at 7:30 a.m. when the accident happened. Stoughton Fire Captain Jackson Macomber told The Enterprisethe man had injuries to his head and body.

“Due to the fact that he got struck on the head and his whole body, it was essentially a crushing accident,’’ Macomber told The Enterprise. “He was alert and oriented but we wanted to get him the best care possible in Boston.’’

The man was taken by a medical helicopter to a Boston hospital. Campbell did not have the man’s name and said OSHA is investigating the incident.
