Mother of teen with norovirus suing Chipotle
The mother of a Brookline teenager who she says contracted nororvirus after eating at the Cleveland Circle Chipotle filed a lawsuit against the restaurant chain Thursday, according to The Boston Globe.
Andrea C. Dow, the mother of 16-year-old Alexander Keough, told the Globe that her son “was so sick he was almost catatonic,’’ and that he was admitted to Boston Children’s Hospital for a treatment that cost the family $350.
Last week, the Boston Public Health Commission confirmed 136 cases of norovirus in people who had eaten at the restaurant, including 129 Boston College students.
Dow alleges that negligence at the restaurant made her son suffer severe pain, incur medical expenses, and miss educational and recreational activities, the Globe reported.
“We believed in the brand,’’ Dow told the Globe. “I feel a little duped.’’
