Teen arrested after allegedly firing gun outside of Roxbury District Court
A 17-year-old suspect who fired shots toward a group of people outside of Roxbury District Court on Tuesday was apprehended and arrested minutes later, according to police.
An officer witnessed the juvenile take out a gun and shoot into a group of men standing outside of the courthouse just before noon, police said. More officers responded to the scene and chased the suspect, eventually stopping him a few blocks away, according to police.
Police arrested and charged the Mattapan juvenile, whose name was not released because of his age, with delinquent to wit, assault by means of a dangerous weapon (a gun), unlawful possession of a firearm, and firearm discharged within 500 feet of a dwelling.
Officers searched the area, but did not recover the weapon, according to police.
