First pigs, now alpacas: MSPCA has more ‘unusual guests’ up for adoption

The MSPCA at Nevins Farm has some new furry friends.

If you weren’t convinced that adopting a pig from the MSPCA was the right option for you, maybe an alpaca is more up your alley.

The MSPCA at Nevins Farm has nine “unusual guests’’ available for anyone looking for a warm, wooly friend.

This isn’t the first time the MSPCA has had alpacas. Last winter, MassLive reported on two alpacas, Lenny and Sheldon, who found new homes in Easthampton, after the animals were removed by the MSPCA from a farm in Ludlow as part of an animal neglect investigation.

Those alpacas are now living happy and healthy lives on an 8-acre farm. Just like with the pigs, these animals aren’t like bringing home a puppy, so if you want to know more about whether these approximately 180-pound pets are right for you, contact Nevins Farm.
