Woman hit, killed by MBTA Commuter Rail train in Ashland
A woman was struck and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail train in Ashland at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to MBTA Transit Police.
The woman, who police said was roughly 50 years old, was trespassing on the tracks near the Cherry Street crossing when she was hit by an inbound train, police said.
Transit police and representatives from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office are investigating her death. Her identity has not been released.
