The Ames Plow Tavern in Faneuil Hall Marketplace will close after 40 years
New Year’s Eve will be its last day.
A decades-old pub in Faneuil Hall Marketplace has announced it will close its doors.
The Ames Plow Tavern, which opened in 1976, is saying goodbye to its customers. New Year’s Eve will be its last day.
The restaurant posted the following on its Facebook page:
Friends, after 40 wonderful years in Quincy Market we have decided to permanently close the doors of the Ames Plow Tavern. Together with Fred (the face of the Plow since day 1) we’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our friends both local and out of town that have passed through those doors since we first opened them in 1976, you guys have truly made these last 4 decades special. It’s been quite a run!
We will be open for the remainder of 2015 and hopefully we will be seeing you between now and then. Thank you again for all of your support of our little basement pub for all these years. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
