Man arrested in connection with shooting that killed 2, ‘grievously injured’ 1 in Revere
Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that killed two people and left another “grievously injured’’ in Revere on Thursday night, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney‘s Office.
Michael Deleon, 36, of Lynn, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of murder, according to the DA’s office. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Chelsea District Court.
The two deceased are Christy Johnson, 35, and Peter Pitari, 66, both of Revere, authorities said. The third victim, a 38-year-old man, was seriously injured and still hospitalized Friday morning, but expected to survive, according to the DA’s office. Their names are being withheld pending notification to family members.
Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo told The Boston Globe investigators believe the shooting, which took place is a usually quiet neighborhood, was likely related to drugs.
At about 8:40 p.m., Revere police requested assistance from Massachusetts State Police for an incident of multiple shots fired outside a home on Waite Street, a state police spokesman told Boston.com.
Revere police and the Suffolk County Detective Unit responded.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Deleon has an attorney.
