Chipotle CEO apologizes during an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show
Steve Ells said the Boston restaurant will be “completely sanitized’’ and all workers will be tested for norovirus.
Steve Ells, the CEO of Chipotle, apologized for the sickness his restaurant has caused during an interview with Today host Matt Lauer Thursday morning.
“I’m sorry for the people who got sick. They’re having a tough time and I feel terrible about that,’’ Ells said.
The Cleveland Circle restaurant in Boston was closed after at least 120 Boston College students became ill with norovirus after eating there.
“When we reopen, the restaurant will be completely sanitized and every single employee will have been tested and assured that they don’t have norovirus,’’ Ells said.
