Federal prosecutors are investigating whether DeMaria strong-armed a developer into using union workers on an Everett building project, reports the Globe.
The incident took place when the old Charleston Chew factory was converted into a luxury apartment complex called The Batch Yard, a $90 million, 328-unit apartment complex that opened last year.
DeMaria would not answer questions about the investigation, according to the Globe.
