Minor earthquake reported southwest of Boston

A minor, 1.5-magnitude earthquake occurred near Holliston at about 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Holliston Fire Department said there were numerous reports in the area of “hearing an explosion or buildings shaking’’ at the time.

The fire department said the center of the earthquake was near neighboring Millis, and no injuries had been reported.

In neighboring Medway, police said no damage or injuries had been reported.
