A Dorchester man with 5 drug convictions was arraigned on drug charges again

A man with five prior drug convictions was arraigned on fresh charges at Dorchester Municipal Court Friday.

Arnold Woodrum of Dorchester was charged with of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance as a subsequent offense, and being a Level 3 armed career criminal, according to a press release.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, police arrested Woodrum at his apartment Thursday, after saying they found three rocks of crack cocaine and almost $2,000 in cash. Police also said they found a second bag of crack cocaine, a handgun, a digital scale, baking soda, a loose razor blade, and empty plastic bags in the apartment.

Woodrum was convicted of possession with intent to distribute in 1990, 1998, 2007, and 2010, the release states. He was also previously convicted of cocaine distribution, assault and battery, and rape and abuse of a child.

Woodrum is being held on $25,000 bail. He returns to court December 11.

Woodrum’s lawyer, Kelli Porges, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
