Mass. State Police on high alert as precaution after Paris attacks
The Massachusetts State Police have taken several precautionary actions in response to Friday’s ongoing attacks in Paris that have killed several dozen people, according to a news release.
The actions are strictly precautionary, police said. “At this time there is no intelligence that suggests specific threats to Massachusetts,’’ the release states.
Police are closely monitoring the situation in Paris, with the federal Joint Terrorism Task Force, at the Commonwealth Fusion Center.
In addition, police have increased security around the State House. At Logan Airport, “a comprehensive and multi-layered security package’’ is in place, according to the release.
All on-duty troopers have been notified of the situation in Paris and have been advised to be on high alert to potential suspicious activity.
“Our prayers are with the French people tonight, and our thoughts are also with the French law enforcement and counter-terrorism authorities who are working to end this ongoing threat,’’ police said.
