16-year-old arrested for gun possession in Boston
Boston police say they have arrested a 16-year-old boy for possessing a .45-caliber pistol.
The boy was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Monday on Fenelon Street in Dorchester, police said in a statement.
Police said they first saw the boy standing in front of a business on Washington Street and observed that he grabbed his sweatshirt near his waistband. They continued to observe him. Eventually, the boy turned onto Fenelon Street and began sprinting.
Officers chased and caught him and conducted a pat frisk. They also searched the area and found the loaded Colt pistol in a blue recycling bin, police said.
The boy faces charges of delinquency by reason of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful carrying of a loaded firearm, and carrying a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
