Gronk, Bruins send messages of support to high school that lost teen in car accident

After a Medway High School student athlete unexpectedly died last week, some of New England’s professional athletes are sending their support to the community.

Last Friday, 17-year-old Madeline Lamson was killed when her car crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski reached out to the school with a video Friday.

“Hey, Medway, I know it’s been a tough week for you guys and I wish I could be there for your pep rally,’’ he said in the video, which was tweeted by the Medway High School Athletic Department. “I just want to say good luck in all the tournaments this week and the MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association). Also, go Pats!’’
