The body is an adult female, say police.

Police arrested a man in connection to an ongoing investigation into a body discovered in a burned car in Worcester Wednesday.

Thomas Hogan, 44, of Worcester was arrested and charged with “misleading the investigation,’’ according to a police statement.

The burning car was found late Wednesday night. Firefighters found the body after the fire was extinguished. The body was determined to be an adult female, said police, and investigators are treating the death as a homicide.

Hogan will be arraigned Friday at the Worcester County District Court House.
