Police are investigating the death of a man in Dorchester.

At just after midnight Tuesday morning, Boston Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 15 Shepton Street, and when they arrived discovered a male with gunshot wounds, according to a press release.

The victim, who appeared to be in his 20’s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to call Boston Police Homicide Detectives at 617-343-4470. People can also call the CrimeStoppers tip line by calling 1-800-494-TIPS or texting the word TIP to 27463.
