5 suspects arrested after late night Pepperell home invasion, robbery
Police arrested five suspects early Thursday morning in connection to a home invasion and robbery in Pepperell, according to police.
Around 2 a.m. Thursday, a juvenile reported that several men had come to his Groton Street home and pulled him outside to beat and rob him. They allegedly punched him and hit him with a baseball bat and showed him that they had a gun.
Shortly after, police pulled a car over that matched a description given by the victim. The five men in the car were found with items stolen from the home, police said.
Police arrested John Hixon, 18, Marc Berry, 21, King Mercedes, 19, Robert Gallant, 18, all of Nashua, New Hampshire, and a 17-year-old from Merrimack, New Hampshire, who police did not name because of his age. They have all been charged with home invasion and robbery, and Hixon has also been charged with possession of a Class B substance, police said.
Police said they believe at least one of the suspects knew the victim, and that it was not a random attack.
All suspects were arraigned later Thursday, with the four adults at Ayer District Court and the 17-year-old at Lowell Juvenile Court.
