Cambridge’s new 40,000-square-foot skatepark is full of construction workers this week. Next month, it will finally be full of skaters.

The Lynch Family Skatepark will open November 14, after more than a decade of planning, reports The Boston Globe.

“It feels wonderful — it’s amazing,’’ Renata von Scharner, president of the Charles River Conservancy, told the Globe.

Here’s a video of what the park will look like from Stantec, the firm hired to design it:

The park, located under the I-93 overpass near the Zakim Bridge, was once considered a “no-man’s land,’’ Von Scharner told the Globe. Now it is full of ramps, railings, stairs, and flat surfaces geared for skaters. The Department of Conservancy and Recreation, which will manage the park, announced this week it will install LED lighting so the park can remain lit in the dark.

The park is named after the Lynch Foundation, which donated $800,000 to the project.
