Police identify Brighton homicide victim

Boston police have identified the 30-year-old man shot and killed in Brighton late Thursday night as Desmond Joseph.

The Allston resident was shot mulitple times around 11:45 p.m. outside an apartment complex on Telford Street, according to police, and was pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived.

An arrest for the killing has yet to be made and police ask anyone with information to call 617-343-4470.

A Boston Police spokeswoman told The Boston Globe the shooting was not random.

The Globereported Friday that Joseph was killed while he was with his newborn daughter, loading her formula and stroller into the trunk of a car.
