Man killed in Saugus hit-and-run identified as Provincetown artist

Lee Castoro was 33 years old. RAW Fine Art

The man who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Sunday night in Saugus was identified by state police and his employer on Tuesday as 33-year-old Lee Castoro, a marketing director at EDGE Media and Provincetown artist.

Police said Castoro was in the middle lane of Route 1 when he was struck and killed by a red vehicle. The driver continued without stopping, and officials said the investigation is ongoing.

Castoro settled in Provincetown in 2010 and, at a low point in his life, was inspired to create an art collection called RAW fine art, he wrote on his website.

Castoro became director of marketing for EDGE, an LGBT-focused media outlet, in 2015.

“Many within the LGBT community will recall his smile as he managed our promotional efforts at events across the country,’’ EDGE CEO David Foucher said in a statement. “He was an artist, an advocate and a friend.’’
