Boston’s the 12th best city in America for Halloween, report says
Boston ranked as the 12th best city in America for Halloween, according to a new report from WalletHub, a personal finance social network.
It was New York City that took the coveted No.1 spot, followed by Jersey City and Newark, New Jersey, respectively.
WalletHub said they “crunched the numbers to find the cities that promise the most hauntingly good time but won’t frighten your wallet,’’ according to their website.
The site used 16 metrics to rank 100 U.S. cities, taking into account the percentage of occupied housing units (or candy stops for trick-or-treaters), walkability, crime rate, average price of a Halloween party ticket, number of candy stores, costume stores, and bars per capita, and the weather forecast for this year’s Halloween.
Boston ranked 28 on “safety and surroundings,’’ 47 on “parties and activities,’’ and tied for first for “best Halloween weather.’’
