After a brief search Saturday evening, Boston police arrested a woman accused of shooting and killing her 49-year-old uncle in Hyde Park that afternoon, The Boston Globe reported.

According to police, Yvonne Lewis, 36, of Hyde Park, was arrested in Peabody and will be charged with murder.

Around 12:41 p.m. Saturday, police responded to calls that an unnamed man in his 40s had been shot near 239 Wood Ave. in Hyde Park. The victim, Clive Francis, of Mattapan, later died from his wounds at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, police said.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said in a statement the incident appears to be a repercussion “connected’’ to domestic violence.

“A family has been forever altered as the result of a split-second decision that will undoubtedly haunt the suspect in this case for the rest of her life,’’ Evans said.

Police believed Lewis fled the scene in a Red Nissan Pathfinder and subsequently put out several community alerts asking the public for help locating the car.

Shortly before 6 p.m., members of the Boston Police Department’s Homicide and Special Investigation Units found and arrested Lewis in Peabody, with help from the Peabody Police Department, according to police.

“I want to commend my officers for the dogged determination and hard work that led to the timely apprehension of the suspect in this case,’’ Evans said. “Thanks to their hard work, the suspect was located and taken into custody within hours of the initial call.’’
