Watertown field hockey team is one win away from a national record
The team needs to beat Melrose High School Wednesday night for the historic win.
It must be hard for Watertown’s high school field hockey team to keep their minds on their studies today.
That’s because if the Watertown Raiders win Wednesday’s game against Melrose High School, it will break a national record and make history. The Raiders have won 153 games in a row, a six-year winning streak.
“It’s very surreal,’’ Michaela Antonelllis, a senior captain, told CBS Boston. “Every single girl who’s played in this program for the last six years, we’re representing them too.’’
The team is led by Eileen Donahue, who has been the team’s coach for the past 30 years. The game will take place in Watertown at 3:45 p.m.
