Police arrest four, recover two guns in Roxbury early Wednesday

Boston police arrested four men and recovered two guns early Wednesday morning.

Members of Boston SWAT and the department’s Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant around 4:40 a.m. near 33 Abbotsford Street in Roxbury, according to police.

Police said a struggle occurred when some occupants of the residence met officers with “violent resistance.’’

Two loaded guns were found by police, “among other illegal items.’’

Police located the primary target of the warrant, James Hickey, 25, of Boston, trying to leave the residence and arrested him. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, improper storage of a firearm, and being a career criminal (level 3).

Three other Boston men were arrested at the scene, according to police.

Jonathan Sanchez, 25, faces the same charges as Hickey. He is also being charged with assault and battery on a police officer and being a career criminal (level 1).

Miguel Perez, 26, was charged possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug, and Anthony Sanchez, 22, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
