A Brookline middle school teacher has been reinstated to his job after facing possible termination for allegedly saying “bulls–t’’ in front of students, reports The Boston Globe.

When a teacher reported hearing Larry Chen, a middle school teacher, use profanity in front of two high school students, he was placed on administrative leave last month. Since then, parents and students have rallied around Chen to save his job, even protesting at school committee meetings.

Chen will be back on the job November 2, according to Interim Superintendent Joe Connelly, who issued the following statement that was published on the Brookline Public Schools Discussion Facebook page Tuesday:

The Public Schools of Brookline has reached a resolution with Mr. Chen and the Brookline Educators Union concerning Mr. Chen’s employment. Mr. Chen’s employment with the Public Schools of Brookline has not been terminated. Mr. Chen will return to his job duties in Brookline on Monday, November 2, 2015. He will participate in a program of professional development, and return to his regular teaching duties on Thursday, November 5th. The administration appreciates the public interest in this matter, but reiterates that it will not publicly discuss the details of personnel matters.
