Boston’s Zombie March will be resurrected this weekend

The Boston Globe Archives

If The Walking Dead returning to your screen wasn’t enough flesh-eating action for you, zombies will also be taking the streets of Boston this weekend.

Last year, event organizer Scott Trano told Boston Zombie March IX would be the last, but the event has been brought back from the grave. Like the many before it will be a free meetup and walkabout for gruesomely costumed flesh enthusiasts.

People are encouraged to come dressed as survivors, zombies, or any other characters which fit into the theme. Participants have gone all out in the past, with makeup and props that would look at home on a movie set.

Over 1,000 people have responded as attending on the event’s Facebook page, and the event founders also laid out some ground rules, including no airsoft guns, no physical contact with “regular’’ people, and no getting blood on buildings around South Station.

Zombie March X will begin at South Station at 4 p.m. on October 24, and is free to anybody who wants to participate.
