Watergate journalist Bob Woodward to speak in Cambridge
One of America’s most noteable investigative reporters is coming to Boston.
Bob Woodward, who broke the Watergate scandal with Washington Post colleague Carl Bernstein in the 1970s, will be in Cambridge at the First Parish Church on October 20.
The Harvard Book Store conversation, led by CNN senior political analyst David Gergen, will promote Woodward’s new book, The Last of the President’s Men, about Alexander Butterfield, the Richard Nixon aide who disclosed the existence of the president’s secret White House taping system.
Woodward uses 46 hours of interviews with Butterfield, supported by thousands of documents, to continue to delve into’s Nixon’s secrets during his presidency in his 18th book due out on October 13.
Woodward has worked for the Post since 1971.
The talk is co-sponsored by the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. Tickets are $5 and went on sale Tuesday morning.
