Boston is one of the best cities for love, report says

Here’s something to look forward to this winter—the odds of finding a cuddle buddy in time for the cold weather look pretty good. Boston is the third best city for love, according to a report by real estate services website Zillow.

Boston scored its high ranking based off the city’s percentage of single residents, disposable income, and potential date spots. According to Zillow, Boston‘s population is 69 percent single, with 10.1 percent new single residents. (Unspecified, however, is how many of those are college students.) The average disposable income here is $13,856—Zillow defines disposable income as a single person’s median income minus median rent—which bodes well for taking full advantage of the city’s 39 date spots per 10,000 people.

Boston ranks below Washington, D.C. (71 percent singles) and Atlanta (70 percent), but isn’t that far ahead of the fourth ranking best city for love, St. Louis.
