The area’s new restaurant scene is in… Burlington?
Burlington, formerly known only for having a mall, is hip now, according to The Boston Globe.
According to the report, restaurant owners are tired of high rents and competition in the city, and are making the switch to the ‘burbs, bringing creative, city cuisine to Burlington. The piece cites the town’s proximity to two major state highways and its bustling retail sector as being attractive to chefs.
Burlington’s relatively small population now has access to new and reinvented restaurants serving suckling pig dishes, macaroons, and indie rum, the Globe reports, hoping to offer the town’s residents a way to eat and play in Burlington.
