Sen. Warren evades questions on becoming Joe Biden’s running mate: “According to the Massachusetts senator, the conversation ranged from policy to what’s happening to the middle class to the direction of the country. ‘It was a long rambling policy conversation,’ she said. Warren paused. ‘It was a long conversation.’’’ (Boston.com)
The Bar Booze Bamboozle: “The owners of some of the most popular bars in Boston received tens of thousands of dollars in illegal cash payments from a beer distributor to stock its craft brews and exclude those of competitors, Massachusetts regulators said Wednesday. … ‘It looks like they went to a tremendous amount of trouble to hide what was going on,’ ABCC Commissioner Kathleen McNally said at the hearing. ‘I’m inferring — they knew they were breaking the law.’’’ (The Boston Globe)
Today we all learned: “The Today I Learned section of Reddit on Wednesday revived the story of Michael Cox, a plainclothes Boston police officer who in 1995 was mistaken for a murder suspect, viciously kicked and beaten by fellow policemen, and then harassed by his brothers in blue as they tried to bury the story. The Reddit post, which linked to a 2009 story about Cox on Boston.com, garnered more than 5,500 upvotes and 1,500 comments by early Wednesday afternoon.’’ (Boston.com)
