Three shootings early Saturday morning before Boston’s Caribbean festival killed one and left four others injured, The Boston Globe reported.

Each summer, the weekend-long festival kicks off with an early morning parade known as the J’ouvert celebration. In recent years, the hours before the parade have been characterized by violence, including the death of 26-year-old Dawnn Jaffier who was killed in the crossfire of a gang fight last year, according to The Globe. The celebration had been shortened this year due to safety concerns.

The shootings occurred in Dorchester and Mattapan. Police found a gun, but have yet to make an arrest. Police have yet to name the victim.
