Former Boston police officer killed in Haiti
A former Boston police officer who served the city for 33 years was shot and killed in Haiti last week, The Boston Globe reported.
Yves Dambreville, 66, retired from the Boston Police Department in 2012.
He spent most of his career in Mattapan, where his Haitian heritage made him a connecting force between the department and Boston’s Haitian community, the Globe reported. After retiring, he worked with nonprofits in Haiti, providing education and job training in rural areas.
The attack also claimed the life of a former Haitian police chief.
