A new era at Fenway: “The Boston Red Sox have hired former Detroit Tigers president and General Manager Dave Dombrowski as president of baseball operations, effective immediately, the team announced Tuesday night on Twitter. In addition, the team said GM Ben Cherington ‘declined the opportunity to continue as [general manager] but has agreed to assist Dombrowski during the transition.’’’ (Boston.com)

Former St. Paul’s School student in court: “Owen Labrie had been making a list of girls to hook up with months before a 15-year-old accused him of sexually assaulting her at their elite New England prep school, but her name was the only one written in capital letters, a prosecutor said Tuesday. Labrie, now 19, has pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of felony rape in a trial that began Tuesday.’’ (Boston.com)

Former governors Bill Weld and Michael Dukakis call for North-South rail link: “One of the most important and cost-effective investments we can make is to connect North and South stations by rail.
